Job summary

The Northshore School District 417 is seeking a LAP Paraeducator to support literacy and mathematics interventions for students in need, within classroom or pull-out settings. The role works under LAP or Title I teachers and may involve small group instruction and materials preparation.

Responsibilities include tracking student progress, maintaining records, and collaborating with teachers and staff to develop effective instructional strategies. Requires flexibility in work location and schedule.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide interventions for students in literacy and/or math to reach and maintain grade level performance.
• Lead small group activities in collaboration with LAP and/or Title I Teacher; adapt lessons to meet student needs; prepare instructional materials.
• Provide interventions to individual students or small groups; assist with problem-solving and organizational skills; report student progress to LAP/Title I teachers and classroom teacher.
• Organize and maintain accurate student records and documentation.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, administrators, and parents.
• Attend required LAP/Title I/staff meetings and professional development.
