Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher required.
• Two years of study (60 college credits) required.
• Demonstrated ability to assist in reading, writing, and math instruction/readiness.

Responsibilities

• 29.5 hours a week.
• Assist in instructional settings with students individually or in small groups.
• Prepare and use materials as directed by certified staff.
• Establish cooperative relationships with parents, students, peers, and employer.
• Follow policies of the Board of Education, admins, and state/federal regulations.
• Provide intellectual, emotional, social and physical support to students as directed.
• Be prompt and punctual in completing assignments.
• Participate in workshops, in-service programs and staff meetings.
• Assist students with disabilities with personal needs including feeding, diapering, toileting, dressing.
• Help students with disabilities move between activities and may assist with lifting.
• Assist students with disabilities on and off the bus.
• Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Assist with classroom management.
• Provide instructional support in the computer lab.
• Provide instructional support in the library/media center.

Education

Associate's degree (or higher degree)

Completion of two years of study at an institution of higher learning (60 College Credit Minimum)

Meeting a rigorous standard of quality that demonstrates, through formal assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics instruction or reading, writing, and mathematics readiness.
