Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Absence & Accommodations Business Partner to join our team. This role supports compliant leave and accommodation programs for CAI and its subsidiaries across North America, partnering with HR, Legal, and Risk to mitigate risk and ensure policy alignment.

The position emphasizes education, process improvements, and reporting, with a focus on FMLA, ADA, PWFA, FMCSA, and workers’ compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, healthcare administration, business management, or related field with 4+ years of absence management experience.
• Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PWFA, FMCSA, and Workers' Compensation requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to coach leaders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% and work across US/Canada.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison to Legal and Risk Management to identify risks and document audit-ready decisions.
• Interpret Absence & Accommodations policy for HR Partners and leaders; provide guidance and next steps.
• Promote consistent application of policies and support compliance across regions.
• Serve as employee advocate for sensitive absence and accommodation requests.
• Create policy updates, playbooks, and FAQs; educate stakeholders on changes.
• Support governance reviews and cross-functional collaboration to improve processes.
• Deliver trends and performance metrics through dashboards and reporting tools.
