Job summary

Atlanta Gas Light is seeking an entry-level team member to support field operations on above-ground crews in Georgia. You will assist with deactivation of service, meter readings, gas line maintenance, and other basic duties as part of a crew.

This bargaining unit position requires a high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, basic tool use, and a valid driver's license. Prior field experience or welding/CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic hand tool skills.
• License to drive and pass basic assessments.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently works a route to complete customer and compliance orders in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures and operator qualifications procedures.
• Observes all safety requirements and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance.
• Assists in connecting and disconnecting gas service, manually turning meters on and off.
• Assists in performing regular meter inspections, paints and maintenance of above and below ground gas systems.
• Operates basic equipment and tools as part of a distribution crew.
