Job summary

Sam's Club is seeking an Optical Associate to stock and curate the eyewear area, process member purchases, and assist with eyewear orders and fittings. You will measure pupillary distance, perform frame adjustments, and coordinate with labs and optometrists for updates on orders and repairs.

Responsibilities include scheduling patient appointments under supervision, maintaining HIPAA-compliant records, and aiding in insurance claim processes.

Qualifications

• ABO certification is required; must obtain state licensure within 18 months of hire.
• Maintain NPI registration where applicable.
• HS diploma or equivalent and state licensing requirements.
• Experience with insurance processing and related health care operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Stock, sign, price, and organize Optical displays and merchandise while ensuring proper handling of damaged items and shrink.
• Process member purchases, payments, returns, and exchanges at the POS system.
• Assist with eyewear and contact lens orders, measurements (including pupillary distance), fittings, repairs, and final inspections.
• Schedule patient appointments and support OD services per state regulations and company policy.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant records and assist in closings/outgoing insurance claims when applicable.
