Job summary

Sam’s Club in Apple Valley, MN is seeking an Optical Associate, Non-Certified to assist customers with eyewear selections, fittings, and repairs in the Optical area.

You will handle frame measurements, lens orders, and POS transactions, while learning ABO certification and state licensure requirements through on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry or within 12 months of hire in order to sit for ABO exam.
• Must obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• Licensed/Registered States Only: Meets or can satisfy state law requirements to become an apprentice optician and licensed optician.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in health care or retail.

Responsibilities

• Stock and merchandise optical area, process payments, and handle returns.
• Educate members on eyewear usage and assist with contact lens care.
• Measure pupillary distance and verify prescription information.
• Assist with frame repairs and frame orders.
