Job summary

Sam's Club is seeking an Optical Associate to maintain the Optical area, assist members with eyewear decisions, measurements, and repairs, and process prescriptions and orders. You will ensure accuracy, proper pricing, and HigH standards while delivering exceptional member service.

The role involves handling payments, insurance-related tasks, and educating members on eyewear care, with HIPAA-compliant records and collaboration with labs and optometrists.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; must be ready to pursue ABO within 12 months.
• Must obtain American Board of Opticianry (ABO) certification within 15 months of hire.
• Willingness to register and maintain your own NPI number as required by state law; licensure requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Stock and present eyewear; handle claims, returns, pricing, and merchandising.
• Assist members with eyewear purchases, measurements, and repairs; verify prescriptions.
• Process optical orders and ensure accuracy of lab communications and reorders.
• Handle POS transactions, payments, refunds, and exchanges according to policy.
• Educate members on eyewear care and contact lens guidance; maintain HIPAA compliance.
