DABS, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Skills Instructor to work directly with adults with developmental disabilities, helping them build skills for independence and community participation. You will lead person-centered activities, track progress, and collaborate with a team to provide holistic support.

Required are a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, CPR certification, and a TB test. Training is provided, and we offer competitive hourly pay, paid sick leave, mileage

Qualifications

• A caring heart and a commitment to helping others live with dignity and independence.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
• Willingness to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR Certification and a recent TB test (we can help you obtain both if needed).
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus—but if you bring passion and dedication, we’ll provide the training.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources, planning engaging activities, and strengthening their skill sets.
• Take individuals on community outings—whether for appointments, errands, or just to enjoy the day.
• Track and document progress, capturing accurate and concise case notes.
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions to challenges.
• Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
