Job summary

VSE Aviation, Inc. is seeking an Aviation Technician I to inspect, service, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul aircraft components while upholding safety and compliance with all regulations.

The role requires reading schematics, following manuals, and performing tasks in a fast-paced environment. The schedule is Monday to Thursday, 6:30am to 5:00pm, with responsibilities spanning diagnostics, service, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Technical Degree (Airframe and Powerplant Certification) or equivalent.
• 4+ years of relevant/technical work experience OR an additional 3 years in lieu of degree.
• Ability to teardown, inspection, parts requisition, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of aircraft fuel/pneumatic components.
• Must be able to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced industry with timelines.
• Have verbal, writing, listening and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels.
• Be detail oriented and organized.
• Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Willing to work additional hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify and service aircraft fuel/pneumatic equipment.
• Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.
• Maintain all shop calibrated tools in satisfactory operational conditions.
• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved technical and regulatory data.
• Perform work assignments as determined by the shop lead.
• Uses appropriate inspection techniques, and calibrated equipment for the unit/part being accomplished.
• Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
• Records information and accomplishes the work assignments in compliance with the inspection procedures manual in quality policies and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
• Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
