Job summary

Amentum is seeking a CBP Aircraft Mechanic to perform maintenance, inspections, and repair on assigned aircraft in accordance with 14 CFR and DoD data. The role may include travel for duty assignments and potential flight on government aircraft for checks.

Minimum requirements include an FAA A&P license, a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain CBP clearance. English literacy and ability to read schematics are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid FAA Mechanic License with A&P ratings.
• Must be able to obtain CBP Background Investigation clearance.
• US Citizenship is required to obtain clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Willing to undergo random drug tests.
• Able to read/write/communicate in English.
• Experience repairing both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.
• Able to interpret schematics, blueprints, and FAA directives.
• Ability to travel to temporary duty sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and modification of aircraft per 14 CFR and DoD data.
• Perform daily and turnaround inspections on all assigned aircraft.
• Inspect, corrosion control, troubleshooting and fault isolation on aircraft systems.
• May fly on Government aircraft for relocation and in-flight checks.
• May travel to temporary duty sites inside and outside the United States.
• Furnish own hand tools; customer provides special tools and test equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties to support the overall mission.
• Periodically travel to support customers’ mission.
