Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic to perform maintenance on CBP aircraft, including airframe and powerplant systems, hydraulics, and engines. You will interpret blueprints and manuals to diagnose and restore aircraft conditions, conduct daily and hangar maintenance, and ensure logs and records are accurate.

The role requires an FAA A&P license, ability to read technical publications, and familiarity with aircraft tools.

Qualifications

• Must obtain CBP Background Investigation Suitability Clearance.
• FAA A&P license is required.
• Knowledge of airframes, hydraulics, fuel systems and engines.
• Broad knowledge of airframe sheet metal modification and repair.
• Familiar with military and general aviation aircraft logbooks.
• Basic knowledge of electrical theory.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical knowledge to determine malfunctions and restore equipment condition.
• Perform daily, flight line and hangar maintenance on assigned aircraft.
• Perform inspections and fault isolation on aircraft systems.
• Furnish own hand tools; special tools provided by Customs.
• May lead teams on complex tasks.
• Make entries in aircraft logs and records.
• Prioritize workload on projects.
• Occasional travel to support customers’ mission.
