Job summary

Amentum is hiring a CBP Aircraft Mechanic in the San Diego area. The role performs maintenance, inspections, and servicing on aircraft in accordance with applicable manuals and DoD/FAA data, including daily inspections and troubleshooting.

Applicants must hold an FAA A&P certificate, a high school diploma, and be eligible for CBP suitability clearance. Willingness to travel and possess a valid driver's license are required; base tools are self-provided.

Qualifications

Must possess FAA A&P rating and be able to repair fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.
Ability to read schematics, manuals, and directives accurately.
Must pass drug testing and obtain CBP background clearance (US citizenship required for clearance).
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to meet deadlines.
English literacy to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, inspections, and modifications per CFRs, DoD data, and manuals.
Conduct daily/turnaround inspections on assigned aircraft.
Troubleshoot and fault isolate aircraft systems; perform corrosion control as needed.
Possibly participate in flight checks and on-site travel for mission support.
Carry own hand tools; customer provides special tools as required.
Adhere to hazardous waste handling procedures and safety standards.
Support mission needs and travel as required.
