Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic to perform maintenance, inspections, and servicing on CBP aircraft in a DoD-regulated environment in Hammond, LA. You will follow FAA and DoD data, work from manuals and schematics, and ensure airworthiness.

The role requires an FAA A&P certificate, ability to work on fixed-wing and rotary-wing systems, and willingness to travel for government duties. U.S. citizenship and background clearance are typically required.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain FAA Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
• Experience with both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft systems is required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and FAA/DoD directives.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and modification of CBP aircraft per 14 CFR and DoD data.
• Conduct daily and turnaround inspections on assigned aircraft.
• Troubleshoot faults and perform system troubleshooting on airframes, hydraulics, fuel, electrical systems, and engines.
• Possibly fly on government aircraft for relocation or in-flight checks, as needed.
• Travel to temporary duty sites within and outside the United States may be required.
• Maintain own hand tools; customer will provide special tools and test equipment.
