The Cobb County Department of Public Safety E911 Emergency Communications Center is seeking an Emergency Communications Officer to answer and process emergency and non-emergency calls. The role requires passing a pre-employment skills assessment and obtaining mandatory GCIC/NCIC certifications, CPR, and TDD/TTY.

The center supports multiple jurisdictions including Cobb Police, Cobb Fire & Emergency Services, and local sheriff’s departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Pass pre-employment skills assessment.
• Obtain and maintain GCIC, NCIC Terminal Operator, Basic Communications Officer, TDD/TTY, and CPR certifications.

Responsabilités

• Answers incoming emergency and non-emergency voice and TDD calls using the CAD system.
• Provide lifesaving and pre-arrival instructions to callers in medical emergencies.
• Forward information to appropriate emergency response units and assist public requests.
• Enter and retrieve data in CAD, create updates for address/street changes.
• Testify in court regarding recorded calls as needed.
• Dispatch appropriate agency personnel to scenes via radio and CAD, coordinating multi-unit responses.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
