Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services is seeking an Emergency Communications Officer for the E911 center. The role involves handling emergency and non-emergency calls, entering data into the CAD system, and coordinating with police, fire, and EMS responders.

Candidates must demonstrate strong communication and multitasking abilities under stress, complete a pre-employment skills assessment, and meet the minimum education and certification requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; supplemented by one year of work experience.
• Must pass the pre-employment skills assessment and be age 18 at hire.

Responsibilities

• Answers emergency and non-emergency calls and enters data into the CAD system.
• Provides lifesaving instructions to callers and monitors medical status.
• Dispatches units via radio and CAD; coordinates multi-unit responses.
• Testifies in Court as owner of E‑911 recording when required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
