Cobb County Government's E911 Emergency Communications Center is seeking an Emergency Communications Officer to answer and process emergency and non-emergency calls using the CAD system.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and the ability to stay calm under pressure; candidates will undergo a pre-employment skills assessment. Cobb County is CALEA-certified and offers comprehensive employee benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus one year of work experience showing reliability.
• Must pass pre-employment skills assessment and be at least 18 years old.
• GCIC/NCIC Terminal Operator, Basic Communications Officer, TDD/TTY and CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Answer and process emergency and non-emergency calls in CAD and relay to appropriate units.
• Provide lifesaving instructions and maintain calm, clear communication.
• Dispatch agencies and coordinate multi-unit responses via radio and CAD system.
• Enter, retrieve, and update data; verify street names/addresses with supervision.
• Testify in court as needed for recorded calls; assist GCIC/NCIC requests.
