Qualifications

• Must pass a computer-based exam with an 80% score.
• Typing speed of 30 words per minute.
• Customer service experience preferred; entry level acceptable with related training.
• Two years of recent customer service history or related education preferred for entry level.
• Lateral entry requires two years of 911 dispatch experience; CPR/EMD/Texas lic. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer multi-line telephones, including 911 lines.
• Process and record police, fire, and medical calls in CAD or manual methods.
• Assign responders and deploy units to calls for service.
• Document activity and disseminate information to personnel.
• Provide pre-arrival medical instructions when certified.
• Operate CAD, NCIC/TCIC, and related systems.
• Maintain confidentiality and work under stress in emergencies.
