Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency and nonemergency lines.
• Confirm incident location and caller contact information.
• Ask focused questions to determine nature and urgency.
• Enter details into call-processing or dispatch software.
• Promptly relay information to the appropriate dispatch function.
• Provide calm guidance to distressed callers within training limits.
• Apply language-access resources when needed.
• Deliver authorized pre-arrival instructions per certification.
