Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a dedicated IDEA Academy teacher to ensure students master academics and social skills needed for college success. You will set ambitious goals, plan rigorous instruction, analyze data, and communicate progress to families.

The role focuses on core subjects in grades 3–5 within a supportive, mission-driven environment in Texas. We offer a starting salary of $59,500 plus stipends for certifications and campus leadership ($500–$4,000 each), with additional

Qualifications

• High level content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification or field of study.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution is required.
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting is strongly preferred.
• Licenses or Certifications: Reading Academies certification for K-3 or willingness to obtain TX training; bilingual certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track student progress with formal and informal assessments and adjust lesson plans accordingly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis.
• Facilitate and integrate technology to improve student achievement and manage tasks.
• Establish and maintain a behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives and develop students’ character and sense of community.
• Foster a positive, productive school culture and strong relationships with students and families.
• Host tutoring sessions as needed and participate in weekly meetings and school events.
• Engage in ongoing district and school professional development.
