Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an IDEA Academy teacher dedicated to helping students master academic and social skills for college success. You will set ambitious goals, plan rigorous instruction, assess mastery, and engage families in student progress.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and teaching certification; experience in a K-12 classroom is strongly preferred. Competitive compensation includes stipends and performance-based pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution.
• Teaching certification preferred; K-12 classroom experience strongly preferred.
• Bilingual and ESL certification strongly preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track each student’s progress and adjust lessons accordingly; update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis.
• Establish and maintain a positive classroom environment and behavior management system.
• Spend 40+ hours on site each week; participate in after-school tutoring or Saturday school if needed.
