Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Texas seeks dedicated teachers for IDEA Academy to ensure students reach college readiness. You will implement state standards, deliver rigorous instruction, assess progress, and collaborate with families to support student achievement.

The position offers a competitive starting salary ($59,500) with stipends for certifications and campus leadership, plus extensive benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• K-12 classroom teaching experience strongly preferred.
• TEA Reading Academies certification or willingness to obtain within required timelines.
• Bilingual certification strongly preferred; content and ESL certification preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track each student’s progress, adjust lesson plans, and update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis.
• Maintain a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Host tutoring sessions as needed to meet student needs.
• Participate in weekly manager check-ins and school-wide meetings.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and learning.
