Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Texas is seeking a dedicated teacher for IDEA Academy to ensure students master academic and social skills needed for college success. You will design rigorous lessons, assess progress, and engage families in student achievement. State-aligned instruction and a strong school culture are essential.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree and teaching certification; K-12 classroom experience is preferred. Bilingual certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution (required).
• Teaching certification with K-12 eligibility (strongly preferred).
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Bilingual certification strongly preferred, ESL certification also preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Assess and track each student’s progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Manage classroom behavior and foster a positive school culture.
• Host tutoring sessions after school or on Saturdays as needed.
