Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is hiring a Dockmaster for a 3rd shift (Mon-Thu, 8:00pm–6:00am) to lead dock activities and ensure safe, efficient trailer movements.

You will partner with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to execute daily dock tasks with accountability and a focus on service excellence. The role requires experience in warehouse or dock environments, strong communication, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Comfort using MS Office 365 and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate loading and unloading dock activities to support daily priorities.
• Manage and sequence trailer docking, release, and yard flow.
• Monitor dock conditions and stop-work when unsafe conditions are identified.
• Partner with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams.
• Communicate professionally with stakeholders and maintain a customer service mindset.
• Ensure dock activities align with safety standards and site guidelines.
• Support dock and yard organization in line with 7S standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and document issues using Office tools.
• Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership and peers.
