Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Dockmaster for 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 2:00pm-12:00am) at our Moncks Corner, SC facility.

You will lead dock operations, coordinate trailer movements, and collaborate with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to ensure safe, efficient, and timely dock activities. Ideal candidates have warehouse or dock experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, dock, yard or transportation environments.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain.
• Adherence to safety standards and escalation procedures.
• Strong communication for daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead dock operations to ensure safe, efficient trailer flow.
• Coordinate loading/unloading and yard sequencing to meet priorities.
• Monitor dock conditions and stop-work if unsafe, escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with site ops, transportation, yard services, and customers.
• Maintain documentation using Office 365 and Google Suite.
• Support leadership and peers with coverage as needed.
• Ensure compliance with processes, safety standards, and SWIs.
• Keep dock and yard organized per 7S standards.
• Identify risks or delays through regular visual inspections.
• Provide guidance and training to junior team members.
