Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Yard and Dock Coordinator for the 3rd shift (Sunday-Thursday, 10:00pm-6:30am) at our Omaha facility. This hands-on leadership role mates with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to move trailers safely and efficiently.

You’ll ensure dock activities meet safety guidelines, coordinate dock movements, and support site leadership with timely, accurate communication. Prior dock/yard experience and strong safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation environments.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather and varied terrain.
• Proven ability to follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication with customer-facing and cross-functional teams.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and dock equipment support.
• Coordinate trailer movements to support daily priorities.
• Manage and sequence trailer docking and yard flow.
• Monitor dock conditions and escalate when unsafe.
• Partner daily with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines and 7S standards.
• Support dock/yard organization per 7S.
• Conduct regular inspections and identify risks or delays.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage to site leadership and peers as needed.
