Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Shelbyville, Kentucky is hiring a Band Saw Cell Operator (PortBand Weld) for the 11:00pm–7:30am shift. You will maintain and set up automatic cut off equipment, perform welding preparation, inspection, and packing of Porta Band blades.

The role requires basic mechanical skills, ability to read prints, and willingness to work overtime. The position offers competitive pay at $21.14/hr plus shift premium totaling $22.64/hr, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities to grow

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required/preferred; AA degree preferred.
• Solid shop math skills and ability to work with decimals.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting prints.
• Basic mechanical ability; experience with changes and operation of machines.
• Ability to use basic tools, equipment, and gauges.
• Knowledge of SPC and basic computer skills related to machine controls and data entry.
• Ability to read/write English; follow safety and quality instructions.
• Willingness to work overtime.
• No recent disciplinary actions related to policy or attendance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment to cut off, weld, grind, anneal, grit blast, inspect and pack Porta Band blades.
• Set up and adjust automatic cut off machine with coil of band saw material.
• Select stops for required length and count for quantity.
• Start cycles and verify proper length and quality.
• Transfer blades to welder, adjust welding machine, and monitor time/temperature.
• Dispose of scrap and rework while following ISO 9001 requirements.
• Document required maintenance and inspections as part of daily tasks.
