Job summary

Kitware seeks a PhD-level researcher to advance algorithms for photogrammetry, camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images and video. You will contribute to TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield while addressing challenges in aerial and satellite imagery.

You will publish findings at top conferences and collaborate with government and industry partners, with opportunities to pursue funded research, apply AI approaches, and share state-of-the-art techniques with open source

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with multiview geometry to build 3D point clouds, meshes, or NeRFs.
• Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python with good software practices.
• Strong publication record in top conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV).
• Innovative approach and track record solving technical challenges with imagery.
• Experience collaborating in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Willingness to apply for TS/SCI clearance (if not already cleared).
• Publications list should be included in resume/CV.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop algorithms for camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with researchers to develop ideas and peer-review work.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Present at national/international conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, 3DV).
• Seek funding to grow and develop your own research areas, if desired.
