Job summary

Kitware seeks a PhD-level computer vision researcher to advance 3D reconstruction and photogrammetry. You will develop algorithms for camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images and video, contributing to TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.

You will collaborate with national and international partners, publish in top venues, and apply AI/ML approaches to challenging real-world problems while addressing national security concerns.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with multiview geometry to build 3D point clouds, meshes, Gaussian Splats, or NeRFs from imagery/video.
• Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python and strong software development practices.
• Strong publication record in CVPR/ICCV/ECCV and related venues.
• Collaborative and innovative problem-solver in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop solutions involving camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with researchers to develop ideas and peer-review work.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Engage with national/international conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, 3DV).
• Seek funding to grow your own research areas, if desired.
