Job summary

Kitware seeks a PhD-level researcher to advance 3D vision research, developing algorithms for photogrammetry, camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images and video, with aerial and satellite imagery focus.

You'll contribute to open source projects TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield, publish at top conferences, and collaborate with government and industry customers on national security challenges.

Qualifications

• Experience using multiview geometry to build 3D point clouds, meshes, NeRFs from imagery or video.
• Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Experience with good software development practices and proficiency in C++ and/or Python.
• A strong publication record in top-tier conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV.
• A highly innovative approach with a record of solving technical challenges using imagery.
• Experience collaborating successfully in a fast-paced environment.
• US Citizens only due to contractual restrictions; TS/SCI willingness to apply for security clearance.
• Detailed publications list should be included in resume or CV.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop solutions involving camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with researchers to develop ideas and peer-review work.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Attend conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, and 3DV.
• Seek funding to grow your own research areas, if desired.
