Job summary

Kitware, a research and development software company, seeks a researcher to advance algorithms for photogrammetry, camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images and video. Projects focus on aerial, satellite, and other domains, with opportunities to extend to underwater imagery and SAR data.

You will contribute to TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield, and collaborate across teams while presenting findings to customers and collaborators. Strong publication history preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience using multiview geometry to build 3D point clouds, meshes, Gaussian splats, or NeRFs from imagery/video.
• Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python and good software development practices.
• Strong publication record in top-tier venues (CVPR/ICCV/ECCV).
• Innovative problem-solving using imagery and collaboration in fast-paced environments.
• Willingness to pursue and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance if required.
• Detailed list of publications should be included in resume/CV.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop algorithms for photogrammetry, camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images and video.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with researchers to develop ideas and peer-review work.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Engage in national/international conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, 3DV).
• Seek funding to grow research areas when desired.
