Job summary

Kitware is hiring a researcher to advance photogrammetry, camera calibration, and 3D reconstruction from images and video. You will contribute to open source projects such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield, collaborating with researchers and presenting findings to clients and partners.

The role emphasizes publishing in top venues, pursuing funding for new ideas, and potential national security engagements. A PhD is required and TS/SCI clearance may be pursued.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience using multiview geometry to build 3D representations.
• Experience with AI/ML for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Strong software development practices and proficiency in C++ and/or Python.
• Strong publication record in top-tier venues such as CVPR/ICCV/ECCV.
• Innovative approach with a track record of solving complex problems using imagery.
• Experience collaborating in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to obtain TS/SCI clearance if not already.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop solutions involving camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with other researchers to develop ideas and peer-review work.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Receive support to participate in conferences like CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, and 3DV.
• Seek funding to grow and develop your own research areas, if desired.
