Job summary

Kitware seeks a PhD-level computer vision researcher to advance algorithms for photogrammetry, camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from imagery and video. You will contribute to open source projects like TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield while collaborating with researchers and presenting findings to clients and partners.

You will publish in top venues, explore funding opportunities, and engage in national and international conferences.

Qualifications

• A PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience using multiview geometry to develop algorithms for 3D point clouds, meshes, Gaussian Splats, or NeRFs.
• Experience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.
• Experience with good software development practices and proficiency in C++ and/or Python.
• A strong publication record in top-tier conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV.
• Innovative approach and track record of solving challenging problems using imagery.
• Experience collaborating successfully in fast-paced teams.
• Due to contractual restrictions, only US Citizens will be considered.
• If not TS/SCI cleared, willingness to apply for and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
• Candidates should include a detailed publications list in resume/CV.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop solutions involving camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images.
• Contribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.
• Collaborate with researchers to develop ideas and peer-review work.
• Prepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.
• Attend conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, and 3DV.
• Seek funding to grow your research areas, if desired.
