Job summary

CADimensions, Inc. in Syracuse, NY is looking for a 3D Printing Field Service Technician to join our Additive Manufacturing team.

You’ll support Stratasys and Formlabs systems by phone, email, and on-site when needed, diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and install new printers while building strong customer relationships. This role offers hands-on problem solving, travel up to 50% of the time, and opportunities for growth within a dynamic company.

Qualifications

• Experience in a technical service, mechanical, electrical, engineering, manufacturing, or equipment-support environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to diagnose technical issues and work through problems methodically.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills, both written and verbal.
• Comfortable providing technical support by phone and email as well as working directly with customers onsite.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize service requests, and manage your time effectively.
• Ability to read and follow technical documentation, schematics, and service procedures.
• Comfortable traveling to customer locations throughout our service territory.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift and move equipment, tools, and service components as required.
• Experience with 3D printing or additive manufacturing equipment, including Stratasys and/or Formlabs systems, is a plus but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Provide phone, email, and remote technical support for Stratasys and Formlabs 3D printing systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, material, and print-quality issues and guide customers through solutions.
• Travel to customer locations to diagnose equipment issues and perform onsite repairs when remote troubleshooting cannot resolve the problem.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to help maximize equipment performance and uptime.
• Install, configure, calibrate, and test new 3D printing systems.
• Provide customers with training and guidance on printer operation, materials, software, and equipment maintenance.
• Partner with Stratasys and Formlabs technical support teams to troubleshoot and resolve more complex service issues.
• Communicate proactively with customers regarding service status, findings, recommendations, and next steps.
• Maintain accurate service records, reports, and customer documentation.
• Assist with the operation and maintenance of CADimensions' internal 3D printing equipment.
• Collaborate with our Sales, Applications, and Service teams to understand customer needs and deliver the right technical solutions.
• Travel approximately 50% of the time to customer locations throughout CADimensions' service territory.
