Job summary

Alfa Laval is seeking a Welder II (2nd Shift) in Oklahoma to perform welding using MIG, flux core, and oxyacetylene/sub arc torches on headers and components. You will read blueprints, lay out parts, and operate related equipment in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 1 year of manufacturing experience, and English proficiency. Safe practices, maintenance, and teamwork are emphasized in a role located in Tulsa/Broken Arrow, OK.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required with relevant experience.
• Must pass Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) if working on stainless steel.
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience; industry experience preferred.
• Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints.
• 1 year experience using MIG and flux core welding and oxyacetylene/sub arc torches preferred.
• Overhead crane and hoist experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English—spoken and written is required for safe performance.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and instructions to understand weld procedures, header layout, and thickness of plates.
• Operates a MIG welding machine to weld headers.
• Uses oxyacetylene torches to preheat heads and cut openings.
• Performs layout and fit-up of non ASME code water jacket headers.
• Completes Preventive Maintenance Checklist and performs routine machine maintenance.
• Provides needed materials to various workstations and locations.
• Operates crane and hoist to load/unload heads.
• Assists Team Lead with tasks and training others as needed.
• Crosstrains in other areas to acquire new skills.
• Maintains a clean work area and adheres to safety policies.
