Aerotek seeks experienced TIG Welders to join a fast-paced production line environment in Mesa, AZ. The role involves TIG welding black carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe, including flanges and elbows, with emphasis on cycle time and repeatable quality.

Must thrive on moving-line work and maintain weld integrity under production targets. Responsibilities include welding carbon steel pipe up to 8 inches, assembling with flanges and elbows, and completing welds in root, fill and cap passes.

Qualifications

• Proven TIG welding experience on carbon steel and stainless steel piping.
• Ability to prep pipe for welds, including grinding and fit-up.
• Knowledge of root, fill and cap weld phases and welding on pipe assemblies.

Job Description

We are seeking experienced TIG Welders to support a fast-paced production line environment. This role involves TIG welding black carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe, including flanges and elbows, with a strong focus on cycle time, takt time, and repeatable quality. Ideal candidates are comfortable working on a moving line and maintaining weld quality while meeting production targets.

Shifts Available:

1st shift - 5:30am-4pm M-TH

Weekend shift - 5am-5:30pm F-Su (includes a 10% differential)

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on black carbon steel pipe up to 8 inches and 4-inch pipe assemblies.

• Weld elbows and flanges connecting to compressors.

• Complete welds through all three welding phases: Root pass, Fill pass, Cover cap.

• Properly prep material, including grinding, beveling, and cleaning for weld-ready condition.

• Maintain consistent weld quality in a high-speed, production-focused environment while adhering to cycle time and takt time standards.

• Follow safety, quality, and production procedures at all times.

Essential Skills

• Proven TIG welding experience with black carbon steel, stainless steel, and dissimilar metals.

• Strong understanding of pipe prep, including grinding and fit-up for flanges and elbows.

• Knowledge of root, fill, and cap techniques.

• Ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality.

• Understanding of takt time and cycle time in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience working on or alongside a production line.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Extensive experience with steel welding.

• Must pass a weld test that includes black steel welds.

Work Environment

The work is performed on a moving production line, emphasizing speed, efficiency, and repeatability. This is not a custom or job-shop welding role. Candidates must be comfortable with repetitive work, line-driven workflow, and maintaining quality under time constraints. The role requires physical abilities, including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing portable ladders. Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $39.60/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
