Aerotek is seeking a Welder for a contract position on a large industrial piping project in Findlay, OH. You will weld carbon and stainless steel piping from 1" to 30" diameter, cutting, beveling, clamping, and joining pipes, valves, and fittings per blueprints.

The role requires at least 3 years of pipe welding experience and the ability to pass TIG root, TIG fill, and 7018 tests. Expect full-time hours, potential per diem, and a focus on safety and quality on site.

Job Title: Welder
Job Description

This role focuses on assembling and installing carbon and stainless steel piping systems ranging from 1 inch to 30 inches in diameter. You cut, bevel, and clamp pipe, join pipes, valves, and fittings according to blueprints, and perform grinding and general site tasks, including cleanup, to support a large construction project.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and install carbon and stainless steel piping systems from 1 inch to 30 inches in diameter.
  • Cut, bevel, and clamp pipe to precise specifications.
  • Join pipes, valves, and fittings in accordance with project blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Perform high-quality pipe welding on carbon and stainless steel materials.
  • Execute TIG root and TIG hot passes followed by 7018 fill and cap on 2-inch monster combo welds.
  • Complete 2-inch Schedule 10 TIG-out welds that meet visual inspection standards.
  • Operate grinders and related tools safely and effectively to prepare and finish welds.
  • Support various job duties on site, including material handling and general labor tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including participating in site cleanup activities.
  • Follow all safety procedures and project guidelines throughout the construction site.
  • Use personal welding gear and tools responsibly and keep them in good working condition.
  • Demonstrate reliability by consistently reporting to work as scheduled and meeting project deadlines.
Essential Skills
  • At least 3 years of experience as a pipe welder working with carbon and stainless steel piping.
  • Proficiency in welding carbon steel pipe using appropriate techniques and electrodes.
  • Proficiency in welding stainless steel pipe, including TIG welding processes.
  • Ability to pass a 2-inch monster combo weld test with TIG root, TIG hot pass, and 7018 fill and cap.
  • Ability to pass a 2-inch Schedule 10 TIG-out visual weld test.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and piping drawings.
  • Skilled in cutting, beveling, clamping, and fitting pipe accurately.
  • Competence in operating grinders and other common welding tools safely.
  • Reliable work habits, including consistent attendance and meeting work commitments.
  • Capability to perform physically demanding tasks in a construction environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ownership of complete welding gear suitable for pipe welding work.
  • Demonstrated ability to pass required weld tests for both carbon and stainless steel pipe.
  • Experience working on construction projects involving industrial piping systems.
  • Attention to detail to ensure welds meet visual and quality standards.
  • Flexibility to perform a variety of tasks beyond welding, such as site cleanup and general labor.
  • Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow site-specific safety protocols.

This is a Contract position based out of Findlay, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
