Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Walker, MI seeks an experienced stamping operator for 2nd shift (2pm-10pm). You will run up to 800 ton presses, load blanks, and ensure parts meet quality standards per JES and Plex ERP data. The role requires attention to safety, housekeeping, and documentation of inspections.

Applicants should have high school diploma or equivalent, ability to read/write English, and prior stamping press experience preferred. Flexibility to work overtime as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Previous stamping press operation experience preferred.
• Ability to perform quality checks and record results in Plex ERP.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift and extend hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor up to 800 ton stamping presses to produce quality parts.
• Reference Plex job orders and JES to stamp per specifications.
• Load correct blanks, verify form/fit/functional specs, and perform inspections.
• Complete operator inspection sheets and maintain safe, clean work area.
• Cross-train on other work centers and support plant flow as needed.
• Meet daily and weekly production requirements and follow packaging instructions.
