Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a production operator for the 2nd shift (2 PM – 10 PM) at our Walker, MI plant. You will monitor stamping presses, load coils, and verify quality against JES and job element sheets using Plex.

The role requires basic reading/writing in English, safety compliance, and teamwork within a fast-paced production line. You will perform quality checks, document results, and ensure packaging, labeling, and housekeeping standards are met.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year manufacturing experience recommended.
• Ability to read/write/speak English to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds; physically able to stand for long periods.
• Willing to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily/weekly production requirements.
• Reference Plex to stamp product per JES.
• Load correct coils for stamping to ensure quality.
• Inspect parts and document results in the Plex system.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the work area.
• Cross-train across work centers as needed.
