Job summary

Kemps in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a motivated Production Supervisor to lead our 2nd shift in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role drives production performance, safety, quality, and team development.

You will monitor pasteurizing and related processes, ensure SQF Level 3 compliance, schedule and train staff, and continuously improve operations while maintaining labor discipline and equipment uptime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of food manufacturing experience, preferably in the dairy or food & beverage industry.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies quickly.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pasteurizing, separating, cooling or freezing, filling, mixing, clean‑up, standardizing, and storing operations to ensure that plant production and quality standards are met.
• Lead daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are achieved.
• Examine the equipment used in production processes to ensure that equipment is functioning efficiently and is properly cleaned and sanitized. Arrange for timely repair/resolution of equipment failures.
• Understands and fulfills the requirements of the SQF 2000 Level 3 code of regulation for food safety and quality. Manages policies, procedures, and programs related to operations. Foster continuous improvement to maintain the SQF 2000 Level 3 certification.
• Supervise the production scheduling, staffing, and material readiness to meet customer demand.
• Coach, train, and develop team members while fostering employee engagement and accountability.
• Manage employee performance, timekeeping, corrective actions, and labor relations matters as needed.
