Job summary

Synergy Flavors on Morgan Street in Chicago, IL seeks a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift (2pm–10:30pm) to lead a manufacturing team and direct workflow to meet customer orders.

You will drive LEAN improvements, coordinate with maintenance, planning, and QA, and ensure safety, quality and productivity metrics are achieved. A high school diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred with 3 years of production experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred; 3 years production experience desirable (food manufacturing preferred).
• Practical experience with LEAN manufacturing principles.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals; write routine reports; speak to groups.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret graphs.
• General computer skills (Word, Excel) and ability to learn new applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide first level leadership; coach and direct the manufacturing team.
• Plan material flow and labor schedules to meet internal/external needs.
• Foster problem solving and continuous improvement using LEAN principles.
• Share information across teams to meet deadlines; coordinate with maintenance, planning, quality and R&D.
• Interview, hire, and train employees; manage performance and safety.
• Ensure ERP orders are completed; resolve inventory issues and conduct cycle counts.
• Write procedures and SOPs; oversee quality and output.
• Interface with departments to drive improvements and capital projects.
