Job summary

Valmont Industries in Elkhart, Indiana, is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee production, material flow, and quality control for the 2nd shift (3PM–12AM, Mon–Fri). Responsibilities include administering department policies, supervising daily shop operations, and ensuring on-time shipping commitments to customers.

The role requires strong leadership, safety focus, and ability to manage 30–50 direct reports, with weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership in an industrial environment; HS diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s with 3+ years or Associate’s with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement work schedules to maximize manpower, machines, and materials.
• Define production standards and monitor performance of staff.
• Review payroll and approvals for direct reports to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping, and quality standards on the production floor.
• Ensure timely reporting of time and production data.
• Lead monthly safety meetings and drive continuous improvement.
