Job summary

Valmont Industries in Elkhart, IN is hiring for a 2nd shift manufacturing role. You will setup, operate, and maintain equipment to produce finished shafts per shop drawings, while following safety and quality standards.

The job requires forklift and overhead crane capability, blueprint reading, and strong teamwork. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in fast-paced manufacturing, attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must have an acceptable attendance and prior employment record.
• 3–5 years experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate forklifts and acquire forklift certification.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes and acquire overhead crane certification.
• Strong hands-on knowledge operating machines.
• Ability to read blueprints/shop drawings.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Able to read a tape measure to within 1/32”.
• Ability to work in a team environment and meet production standards.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and perform general maintenance of equipment.
• Make mathematical calculations for setups and parts.
• Ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
• Support lean, 5S, and housekeeping practices.
• Assist with machine setup and material handling as location requires.
• Coordinate with Shift Lead/Supervisor to optimize production.
• Inspect shafts and parts for conformance to drawings.
