Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Elkhart, Indiana is seeking a Shift Supervisor for the 2nd shift (3PM–12PM, Monday–Friday). The role oversees production, material flow and quality control, directing shop operations and setting priorities to meet customer commitments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of leadership experience in an industrial environment
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage production, material flow and quality control for the shift
• Supervise daily shop operations and set work priorities to meet shipping commitments
• Ensure products meet quality standards and arrange necessary repairs/maintenance
• Maintain accurate records of orders, inspections and time reporting
• Lead monthly safety meetings and enforce PPE compliance
• Administer payroll approvals for direct reports
• Foster safe, efficient and organized work areas
• Coordinate with Production Manager and schedulers on plan vs. schedule
