Job summary

Valmont in Elkhart, Indiana is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift (12 AM–8 AM, Mon–Fri). You will assist in preventive maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and facilities, including hydraulic machines, presses, cranes and welders, to minimize downtime.

Requirements: Associate degree in industrial maintenance or equivalent and 1 year of industrial maintenance experience; basic computer skills (Outlook); ability to work in a team, follow safety rules, and tolerate overtime,

Qualifications

Associate's degree in industrial maintenance or equivalent.
1 year of experience in industrial maintenance.
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook or similar email software.
Ability to recognize and solve practical problems.
Ability to work in a team with diverse people.
Meet production, safety, and quality standards in a high-paced environment.
Forklift operation training/certification (where applicable).
Wear PPE and follow safety regulations.
Overtime including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Responsibilities

Assist in preventive maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and facilities including hydraulic machines, presses, shears, cranes, welders, mechanical clutches, drive trains, etc.
Assist in the repair of worn parts, straightens and fabricates fixtures. Install new equipment and perform major repairs/replacements.
Seek opportunities for efficiencies and improvements within the maintenance department.
Assist with proper installation of equipment ensuring safety standards are followed.
Perform maintenance tasks to minimize production downtime.
Support manufacturing demands including off-shift, holidays and weekends as required.
Respond to on-duty emergency requests and after-hours calls.
Assist in continuous improvement of maintenance systems and practices.
Assist in general maintenance tasks including buildings and grounds.
Wear PPE and work in non-temperature-controlled environments.
