Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Elkhart, Indiana, is seeking a 2nd shift operator to run and maintain equipment for precision shaft production. You will load programs, align tooling, and ensure parts meet shop drawings.

Emphasis on safety, lean practices, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with tape measures.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blue prints/shop drawings.
• Must be able to read a tape measure to within 1/32".
• If location requires, operate forklifts and overhead cranes and obtain certification.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines and processes per shop drawings and job orders.
• Load machine programs for product orders and set up equipment.
• Maintain material traceability throughout production.
• Troubleshoot operating errors and determine resolutions.
• Practice lean manufacturing, 5S and general housekeeping.
• Position and load materials using overhead crane and forklift where applicable.
• Ensure finished shafts meet specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Shift Lead, Supervisor and team to optimize output.
