Job summary

Johnson Controls International plc. is seeking a Machine Operator for 2nd shift in York, PA. You will set up and operate metal fabrication machines such as brakes, shears and presses to cut, bend and form metal parts according to blueprints.

The role requires reading drawings, selecting tooling, adjusting machining factors, inspecting parts and maintaining safety standards. Forklift license is required in some departments; training may be provided.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.
• Set up tooling and fixtures onto machine.
• Position and clamp stops, guides, and turntables.
• Adjust controls to set and regulate machining factors such as pressure and depth of ram stroke, adjustment rolls, blade angle, and machine speed.
• Inspect or measure work pieces and ensure conformance to specs.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and determine setup and sequence of operation.
• Select and secure tooling and fixtures onto machine.
• Set up and adjust machine controls to achieve required tolerances.
• Position and clamp stops, guides, and turntables.
• Inspect and measure finished parts for quality.
• Document deviations from prints or specifications and take corrective action.
