Job summary

Johnson Controls in York, PA is seeking a Machine Operator on the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2pm-10pm) to set up and operate metal fabricating machines. You will read blueprints, select tooling, adjust ram speed, and ensure parts meet specifications while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a certificate or 3–6 months related experience, basic math skills, and the ability to use CNC software and a PC.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup and operation.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety rules and shop-floor paperwork.
• Mathematical ability to compute rates, tolerances and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and determines machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.
• Selects, positions, and secures tooling and fixtures onto machine.
• Adjusts controls to set machining factors such as ram stroke, blade angle, and machine speed.
• Operates machine and monitors performance, changing dies or settings as needed for multiple passes.
• Inspects parts and documents deviations from prints or specifications; maintains clean, organized work area.
