Job summary

Johnson Controls in York, PA is seeking a Material Coordinator for the 3rd shift. The role involves setting up and operating metal fabricating machines such as brakes, shears and presses to cut, bend, straighten, and form metal plates and shapes according to blueprints and shop orders.

Qualifications include a one-year certificate or 3–6 months related experience; forklift license may be required in some departments.

Qualifications

One year certificate from college or technical school.
Three to six months related experience and/or training.
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Forklift license may be required in some departments; must obtain within three months.

Responsibilities

Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.
Selects, positions, and secures tooling and fixtures onto machine.
Positions and clamps stops, guides, and turntables.
Adjusts controls to set and regulate machining factors such as pressure and depth of ram stroke, adjustment rolls, blade angle, and machine speed.
Locates and marks bending or cutting lines and reference points on workpiece.
Starts machine and observes operation to reposition workpiece or adjust settings for multiple passes.
Inspects or measures work.
Wears all required PPE.
Documents deviations from prints or specifications and takes corrective action.
