Job summary

Responsibilities include selecting tooling, adjusting machine controls, inspecting output, and ensuring safety compliance. Training may be provided for new staff, with emphasis on quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school, or 3–6 months related experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and safety rules.
• Ability to read scales and use vernier calipers.
• Knowledge of CNC software and the ability to use a PC.
• Forklift license required in some departments, obtainable within three months.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and determines machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.
• Selects, positions, and secures tooling and fixtures onto machine.
• Positions and clamps stops, guides, and turntables.
• Adjusts controls for machining factors and speeds.
• Inspects and measures work; reports deviations from prints.
• Wears PPE and trains new or existing employees if necessary.
