Job summary

OSI Group in Oakland, CA is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift to lead a 21–25 person production team of meat products in a safe, sanitary, and efficient environment.

The role focuses on achieving daily production goals by managing people, equipment, and processes, ensuring quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance, while coaching staff and promoting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in related field is preferred.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, lean manufacturing and food safety principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.
• Ability to mentor and coach employees and develop talent.
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills; proficient in MS Office.
• Knowledge of production planning and shift handoffs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a production team of 21-25 employees to deliver high-quality meat products safely and efficiently.
• Plan and allocate daily resources to meet production targets with cost awareness.
• Document daily activities; analyze performance and communicate variances in meetings.
• Facilitate smooth shift transitions and ensure clear communication with peers and management.
• Coordinate maintenance requests to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
• Apply root-cause analysis to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with quality programs, HACCP, GMPs, and food safety requirements.
• Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing policies and PPE usage.
